Two Florida-based Rush Soccer clubs join Major League Soccer’s Elite Player Development Platform

NEW YORK (MAY 13, 2020) On Wednesday, Major League Soccer announced that Miami Rush Kendall SC, Florida Rush Soccer Club and more than 60 other former U.S. Soccer Development Academy clubs will join the League’s existing club academies to create a partnership that will transform youth player development in the United States and Canada.

Rush Kendall and Florida Rush are a part of 95 total clubs becoming founding members of the new platform, which will include more than 8,000 players throughout the U.S. and Canada and will consist of elite year-round competition, as well as player identification initiatives, coaching education opportunities, and additional programming to create the premier player development environment.

“We are excited for the future competitive and developmental opportunities that are now being afforded to two top Rush Soccer member clubs through this elite program“ said Rush Soccer President and CEO Tim Schulz. “A massive congratulations is due toward Miami Rush Kendall and Florida Rush for the hard work they’ve put in to achieve this. We are proud that they represent The Rush and the core standards we live and play by. This is just the beginning, our work continues through the strides taken by these two Florida-based members of our family.”

With a focus on maximizing each player’s potential, the new development platform will not only provide high-level, year-round competition for players, but will provide important programming, education and innovation in the key areas of player development:

  • Player Identification
  • Coaching
  • Environment
  • Personal Growth
  • Community Outreach

With a reputation for developing elite youth players into American internationals like Lindsey Horan (Colorado Rush) and Christian Pulisic (Michigan Rush), Rush Soccer is a consistent innovator and leader in the global youth sporting ecosystem by creating a distinct pathway from youth to professional soccer for its athletes.

Schulz has overseen Rush Soccer’s growth and competition since 1991, offering a developmental and competitive structure for more than 40,000 active players and coaches across more than 50 U.S.-based and international clubs, and an exclusive academic and elite soccer training partnership with the Combine Academy in North Carolina.
